Adaptations
April 26, 2010
The week sped to a start with two deadlines on Monday in my Art History and Drawing class. An exam followed the next day. By Tuesday my time was being occupied by somewhat monotonous tasks, but necessary nonetheless. As the semester comes to a close, since I won’t be living on campus next year, I plan on keeping most of my belongings in storage over the summer. I researched the details of a few storage facilities in Stillwater and talked to a couple friends, having never rented myself; I’m sure it’ll work out great!
We all are aware that surprises come when we least expect them, Wednesday, unfortunately was a prime example. I awoke with a severe headache, which I didn’t expect to last over the course of that day and Thursday. As mentioned in a previous blog, migraines have been something I’ve learned to live with for years, despite attempts to remedy them. Friday, I was back on my feet again though! Migraines aren’t conducive to productivity, however, so a little behind and having missed a couple meetings, I had the weekend ahead of me to get back on track before finals!
Friday after class, I met at the Murphy House for the Student Foundation executive officer transition meeting. This is a very helpful way for incoming officers to feel more prepared for the year to come, and for the outgoing officers to reflect and evaluate their own performance. The remainder of the day was spent beginning to pack a few things from my room, and on homework.
Sunday, Circle K International met to partake in one of my favorite service projects: Adopt-a-Street. With our brightly colored attire, we search for all the trash, big or small, along the roadside. At the end we all compare who had the best “find” of the afternoon, which never ceases to provide a few laughs. Here are a couple pictures from the event. ![]()

Go Pokes!

Congrats to OSU CKI on the success of your Adopt-a-Street event! I am Edna, this year's PR & Marketing Chair of your Texas-Oklahoma CKI District, and I'd love to chat with you about creating a chapter website for OSU and inviting you to join my committee. This year we are trying to expand our online presence through social networks and blogs, revamping the district newsletter and so much more! I look forward to hearing from you soon :]
