Orange Power
September 7, 2010
It’s hard for me to believe that just two weeks ago summer was still lingering in the air. So quickly I’ve become submersed into the bustle of campus life at OSU! Between homework, activities, meetings, and now – football games, there’s never a dull moment! J
Wednesday was the annual Activities Mart on Library Lawn! This has become one of my favorite events, due to all the people that congregate on the beautiful campus to get involved in the many organizations offered at OSU. I worked the CKI booth for a while in between classes. Here are some pictures from the afternoon.

CKI met for our weekly meeting the following evening to plan service projects for the upcoming month! I’m looking forward to Adopt-A-Street again, as well as a few new projects.
Friday I was excited to attend the study abroad gift announcement at the Wes Watkins Center. It’s a great time to be at Oklahoma State University! Giving is abundant in many ways; Donald and Cathey Humphreys stated their generous gift of six million dollars to the study abroad program! What an incredible impact; the experiences that those funds will allow students to partake in are surely priceless. Here’s a pic of the Humphreys at the event.
Game-day in Stillwater was very apparent from morning ’til night on Saturday, as a sea of orange and black swept across the town. The Board of Governors and Campaign Committee meeting was being held that afternoon prior to the game. OSU Student Foundation members helped at the event by greeting guests, assisting with registration, and other tasks. The attendees are always OSU’s most passionate fans, so it’s great to see them decked out in unique orange and black fashion! Once the event was over, it was time for Cowboy football!! And what a great game it was: 65-17 for the Pokes! Here’s a couple pictures from the event that day.

To make the weekend even more exciting, I got to spend it at home with my family…and my brother! Clay coincidentally had to come to Oklahoma for work, so he was able to spend the weekend in Weatherford. Although it made it difficult to focus on homework, I had a great Labor Day weekend with family and of course plenty of home-cooked meals J.
GO POKES!

Sara! I had no idea that you had this blog running. For one of my classes I am now going to be writing a blog about the OSU Foundation and the Branding Success campaign. I was going to focus on the campaign from a student perspective and the impact it is having on the student body. Very similar to yours!
I love reading your stuff about Student Foundation! It is such a fun thing to be involved with. Even when we spend four hours on game day at a Board of Governors meeting! I am glad you are here to share that with everyone on the Internet!
